Day 3-The Acropolis and The Rest of the Day That Wasn't As Exciting as Ancient Theatres...

Waiting In Line For the Acropolis
The Acropolis is an amazingly beautiful place.  It's no wonder why the Ancient Athenians chose that spot for their temples.
Practically all of Greece is under some sort of construction; luckily some of the scaffolding had been removed from the Parthenon before we had arrived in Greece.  Instead of completely reconstructing the building and making it "like new" again, they've created a process of filling in areas with marble in order to bring about more support in the structure without messing with the structural integrity of the building.

I was feeling particularly artistic this day, so most of my photos of the Parthenon are "artsy" for lack of a better word...

The Caryatids
After the lovely walking tour of the Acropolis we went to The Acropolis Museum.  We weren't allowed to take pictures inside the museum.  I found it fascinating that there were people underneath the glass walkway leading up to the museum who were digging.  We had a brief lunch at the rooftop cafe, where Sara and I were left behind.  This didn't settle very well with us and we made snide remarks about being left behind for most of the rest of the day.

Paying Attention to Joe
After a lengthy day of walking and looking, we walked to a park in Syntagma Square to listen to Professor Joe read from Herodotus.
